A friendly competition began recently between Community Middle School and Cascade Middle School. The annual fundraiser of selling cookies began at the end of September and ran until mid-October. Dr. Cook and Mr. Hasty decided to bring fun competition between the schools as they are both called CMS.
The competition started with Mr. Hasty coming to Community Middle's cookie kick-off rally and talking about how the Champions were better. Dr. Cook went over to Cascade Middle later the same day and talked about how the Vikings were better. This got the students hype and ready to sell cookie dough.
At the end of the fundraiser, cookie dough sales revealed that Cascade Middle School had won and beat Community Middle in sales.
In Dr. Cook's words, "Unfortunately, we didn’t bring home the Cookie Cup this year… but we did have a record-breaking fundraiser! Our Community Middle Vikings sold over $50,000 in cookie dough — our best year ever! We are so proud of our students, parents, faculty, and staff for their incredible effort and teamwork. We can’t wait to celebrate and reward our students for their hard work! Even without the trophy, we all know who the real CMS is. Watch out, Champions — we’re coming for you next year!"
